Sr. Power Project Specialist

Role Purpose: 

·       Manage the project delivery portfolio of all SPPC Renewable and Conventional IPP projects 

·       Report back at the portfolio level to flag any portfolio or project level risk in project delivery and implementation 

·       Provide a mitigating plan and put together corrective measures to address any rising issues and discrepancies within the projects portfolio

Responsibilities:

·       Manage project agreements and follow up the completion of work on projects according to requirements, specifications and implementation plans

·       Prepare reports, presentations, analyze and review the project periodically

·       Enhance the effectiveness of communication with different stakeholders 

·       Identify potential factors that could affect the project schedule and quality and recommend solutions to ensure that all issues are flagged and resolved in a timely manner

·       Oversee, audit, and follow up on project activities, as per contracts and agreements to ensure alignment with all technical specifications

·       Oversees all fieldwork and report back on non-compliance, misalignment to project plans, risks, safety and hazards issues, and any other challenges on site 

·       Hold site inspections proactively to ensure the right safety protocols are being implemented by contractors and sub-contractors 

·       Attend and witness all testing and commissioning to ensure achievement of project milestones and commercial operation as planned

·       Ensure the power plant is installed and aligned to Grid Code requirements 

Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Knowledge

•         Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
•       Holding any of Project professional certificates (is a plus)
•     Minimum 4 years of experience in power generation sector with relevant exposure in the power project
•       Able to determine the actions, risks and end results required
•       High resilience, proactive problem-solving skills, and strong negotiation skills
•       Ability to build effective working relations with multiple stakeholders, across departments
•        Fluent in Arabic and English languages

• Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English.
•  Ability to use Microsoft office applications.
•  Communication skills.
