Job Description
Role Purpose:
- Manage and coordinate the interfaces associated with the implementation of Renewable and Conventional Independent Power Producer (IPP) projects during the project implementation phase.
- Monitor of interface engineering, and studies, while coordinating with stakeholders to ensure compliance with project agreements, technical specifications, and requirements.
- Report back at the portfolio level to flag any portfolio or project level risk in project delivery and implementation
- Provide a mitigating plan and put together corrective measures to address any rising issues and discrepancies within the project’s portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage and coordinate project implementation interfaces with the relevant stakeholders.
· Participate in site visits, project review meetings, and technical discussions to assess project implementation progress.
· Oversee and monitor the progress of engineering activities related to project interfaces and grid studies.
· Facilitate effective communication and resolution of interface issues among stakeholders.
· Identify risks associated with interfaces that may impact project implementation schedules.
· Recommend mitigation measures and corrective actions in coordination with relevant departments.
· Assist in evaluating interface-related claims, delays, or disputes involving project stakeholders.
· Track the progress of interface activities against the project implementation schedule.
· Prepare periodic reports and presentations on the status of interface activities and approvals.
· Manage project agreements and follow up the completion of work on projects according to requirements, specifications and implementation plans.
· Oversee, and follow up on project activities, as per contracts and agreements to ensure alignment with all technical specifications
· Hold site inspections proactively to ensure the project being implemented by in accordance with schedule.
· Ensure that the power plant has provided the required approvals and compliance with the Grid Code requirements
Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Knowledge
· Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related engineering discipline.
· Holding any Project professional certificates (is a plus)
· Minimum 5 years of experience in power generation/Transmission sector with relevant exposure in IPP projects.
· Experience in IPP project development, engineering, project implementation, and grid interconnection activities.
· Experience working with EPC contractors, project developers, and utilities is preferred.
· Experience in managing grid impact studies is preferred.
· Ability to determine the actions, risks and end results required.
· Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders across large projects.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to review technical documentation, engineering reports, and project schedules.
· Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
· Leadership skills.
· Fluent in Arabic and English languages
