Job Description

 Qualifications & Experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Systems, or a relevant field.
  • 6 Years of Experience.

 

Job Purpose:

Direct and ensure the continuous monitoring, reporting, and management of incidents and crisis events across the power generation system on a 24/7 basis. Ensure timely classification and escalation of incidents to internal stakeholders and the Ministry of Energy in accordance with defined criteria, while maintaining full readiness of crisis management facilities, tools, and communication channels. Coordinate with key internal and external stakeholders to lead effective crisis response, drive awareness and preparedness across PB employees and contractors, and ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements governing crisis management in the power sector.

Generic Accountabilities:

 Strategy & Planning:

Ensure execution of the business line’s strategic plans and ensure departmental goals are in align with organizational objectives.

Contribute in defining and monitoring departmental objectives, ensuring they align with overall goals and provide the needed guidance to team members to achieve objectives.

People Management:

Set and monitor individual and team performance objectives, providing regular feedback and conduct performance reviews to drive continuous improvement and achieve individual goals. 

Encourage a mindset of ongoing enhancement and development among the team members.

Budgeting:

Assist in tracking budget-related activities and report on any variances. 

Policies, Processes & Procedures:

Contribute in the development of policies and processes ensuring the team adheres to them and contribute to process enhancements.

Ensure the team complies with relevant regulatory standards and report any compliance issues and support corrective actions.

Stakeholder Management:

Manage interactions with key stakeholders to support team objectives ensuring stakeholder needs are met and align with team and organizational goals.

Main Roles/Activities:

·       Receive reports of incidents on 24/7 notice.

·       Monitoring of contracted generation and power system status

·       Monitoring of fuel supply, tank levels and transportation operations

·       Report incidents to internal stakeholders as per defined criteria (e.g. internal incidents, external incidents, BCM incidents, etc..).

·       Classify and report incidents to the Ministry of Energy for incidents that meet MoEn defined criteria.

·       Provide MoEn with all documents & descriptions of the incident, its effects, actions, incidents’ location, and potential reasons causing the incident with any future updates.

·       Facilitate and\or participate in internal\external crisis management events until resolution is achieved per PB leadership guidance.

·       Archive and report periodically the status of incidents to concerned teams.

·       Ensure all MCM reporting and communication mediums are on service and tested periodically.

·       Ensure the readiness of crisis room with all its facilities and maintaining crisis management guide.

·       Manage awareness with PB employees and contractors.

·       Engage with key stakeholders during crisis to ensure adequate crisis management.

·       Executing and participating crisis management drills with internal and external stakeholders.

Skills Description

  •         Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English.
  •          Ability to use Microsoft office applications.
  •          Communication skills.
